1 YEAR of being Unique! And smoothies!

Hello! Today marks the day that one year ago I made this blog. I can't tell you how much I love all of you and this blog! I learned to realize that posting it fun, but I love blogging so much because I get to meet A LOT of new people! So thank you for following and commenting and being a friend! Currently, this is how much I've grown in a year.

All the love: A LOT!
I don't mean to brag though! It's all because of you!
Thank you God for giving me this blog so I could make new friends and post many posts. From this blog I learned I love photography. I took some pictures before this, but I started LOVING it right after my photoshoot with Taffy! Anybody remember that post? Anyway, Thank you! I'm so happy!

Anyway, today to went to a smoothie place with our friends in celebration that my sister and her friend finished their book. They actually started almost a year ago. It's funny how a great idea comes when you don't want to go swimming and neither does your friend. Your bored and she is too. So, you randomly start thinking about making a book. You think it's a bad idea but almost on year later your eating delicious smoothies because you finished it.

So, I haven't posted any photography in a long time. Mainly because their is this ugly cicadas outside of our house and it's loud. Whenever you look at our tree it is literally COVERED with them. Please help to like them! Because I have to deal with them for about five or six more weeks. Anyway, when we went to the smoothie place I took some interesting photos. And some of them are pictures I've took before.

Also, today the photography contest is done! I will post the winners probably Saturday or Sunday. I gotta examine them first! ;)
Also, the story contest is done too! You have told me that you will do it I will wait for a little bit long, but if you haven't heard of it yet. I'm sorry. I have 5 entries, but a couple people said they might enter to. If that's you I'll you a couple more days. Thank you everyone for your patience in this contest.

Why do you long for more?

Have you ever noticed the smile and joyfulness of a kid with a disease that makes them in constant pain? You’d think that they’d be screaming out so loudly about how they wish they never would’ve done that thing that changed their life or that if God really loved them he wouldn’t of let this happen to them, but no. Instead you see their faces shining with a so happy smile and their attitude about everything is so cool! They are so thankful for what they have received and always are so friendly. They don’t always judge or bully you and they don’t make fun of your appearance.
Then we look at another picture. Us. With great health and plenty of wealth, but what do we do. We sit around bullying kids and making fun of them. When we receive something we want more of it and won’t be happy and friendly until we have it. We make fun of peoples appearances and break them down. While we hear stories and reports about many dying people and many poor kids in different countries we sit craving for more.
Have you ever seen a very poor little child? His clothes are torn and his feet are bare, but he stands there with a smile! He remembers that maybe he doesn’t have food on the table everyday and maybe doesn’t have the nicest things. Sometimes his parents are dead or he doesn’t have a bed or even a shelter to sleep in every night, but he has something greater than any of those things. For all of things will soon pass away, but he will haveJESUS!
“All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall
but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is the word that was preached to you.
If we have Jesus then why do we constantly want more. We are always looking at new things to buy, but really we don’t need that. Nothing. I mean NOTHING compares to the love of Jesus. And to get to be his friend. That’s better than ANYTHING. It’s better than more than a life supply of gold.
So why do we long for more? Why?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved us he gave his son to die for us? FOR YOU. Then why do we long for something else when someone DIED for us! So that you can have a second chance. And if you believe Jesus did this you will have eternal life.
What a friend we have in Jesus!
There is one more passage I would like to share with you. We talked about this in our Sunday School when Christmas was arriving. This is why we have so much joy around Christmas. Not only around Christmas but ALL THE TIME! Because he died for us! Because he took all of our sin and he blamed it on him. When he was innocent they killed him! They threw rocks at him.
So again why do we want more? When Jesus gave us this life. We would of been dead. All of you. But God died for us! He has gave you all of these blessing like family clothes, friends, the church, a shelter, but you are not satisfied.
Ephesians 2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christand seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Jesus died for you. He loves you. He gave you all of these stuff when you didn’t even deserve a penny of it. So why do you want more?

A Non-Bernie Birthday Post

Bonjour peeps!

Despite that cute intro, this is not Ellie. This is a secret hacker trying to take over the world. Just kidding. It's actually Sarah, Bernie's awesome big sis. Some of you might know me from my blog Forever Changed. And those of you who have no idea I am, can learn from this post.

Today is Ellie's birthday. (And shhh, she doesn't know I'm posting yet)  I won't talk about the age because Ellie doesn't seem too excited to be growing up. I'm sure most of you know her as a nice, creative, and slightly strange. Truthfully, though, she is not slightly strange. She is extremely crazy. While I can show you tons of evidence proving that fact, I'll leave it up for you to connect the dots.

But Ellie and I have a lot of history... being sisters and all. I met her when I was two. She met me when she was a few hours old. Ever since then, we kind of hit it off. Though she is my little sister, I learn a lot from her. That's what I would like to talk about today. Because I love lists, here are five lessons I have learned from Bernie!

1. Being weird is not a bad thing.
As young adults, we are all pressured to be somebody, to fit into this little box. But Ellie showed me that it is not only possible to blow up that box, but it's actually fun to do it, too. Yes, people will give you awkward stares and question your sanity every now and then, but all the same, weird isn't bad. The important thing is being original and having fun while doing it.

2. It's okay if your friends think you're kinda crazy.
There was a time when I was careful of what to say around my friends. What if they I'm stupid or nuts? Nowadays, most of my friends do think I'm nuts, but I'm glad.  True friends put up with you---the entire package, not a personal selection. Bernie's best friends know she is insane, but they love her to pieces anyway.

3. You can always have kiddie obsessions.
You might know that Bernie is obsessed with hot-wheels and playing baseball with "the bro." She has names for the hot-wheels and everything. Yes, that sounds a little immature, but it's fun. I, myself, have an obsession with all things Olaf, the ADORABLE snowman on Frozen. But, hey, that's another story.

4. Weirdness is best when you're weird with someone else.
One of my all-time favorite quotes is this one from, Alice in Wonderland, when Alice addresses the Mad Hatter. "You've gone completely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret: the best people are."  Being crazy is always a blast when you have some other weirdo who can be insane with you. Ellie and our group have the time of our lives with our crazy buddies.

5. Normal is boring.
I am not popular. I don't have a ton of friends. I don't go somewhere every Friday night. But you know what? Ellie showed me that as long as you forget normal, life can be a blast, no matter where you are. When you think about it, nothing in the Bible is normal either. So that's why normal is overrated.

The list could go on, but I'll let it stop for now. Hope you like it! And hey, if you have time, drop Bernie a birthday comment. She would be thrilled.

Later, lovelies!
~Sarah:)
